Flexibility was the guiding inspiration for this renovation that would give its owners innovative ways to entertain, store belongings, and welcome overnight guests with comfort and privacy.
Our design vision for this unfinished basement was to transform it into a multifunctional space using creative solutions and ideas as well as paying careful attention to the build as general contractors. Our client requested an area that could allow lots of entertainment options and storage for their Atlanta-area home, while also providing privacy and comfort for overnight guests. We responded with prioritizing the various uses of the space, and then organizing the rest of the features accordingly. It is now an ample family room with built-in storage and a seating nook, hidden behind a retractable drop-down movie screen. An oversized bar provides both seating and entertainment space, with cabinetry and storage throughout. Elsewhere in the space, a multi-purpose closet allows for storage for homeowners or overnight guests, as do two tucked bunkbeds with hidden storage underneath. A full-size bathroom provides convenience when using the family room or entertaining, while also allowing a private bath for out-of-town guests to use during their stays.
